Children’s Winter Light Design 2021
We have received some very disappointing news regarding the Children’s Winter Light designed by Tara. Remember her cute penguin drawing? Unfortunately, the manufacturers of the new light have advised us that they are unable to complete the order in time for this winter.
We have contacted alternative providers, but been told the same, with the explanation that its due to a combination of Brexit and the pandemic creating a problem throughout the industry.
We are very sad that Tara (and the rest of us) will not be able to see her design in lights until 2022 and, although naturally she is very disappointed, Tara has taken the news well, and understands that the situation is out of our control.
Now for the good news… or making the best out of a bad situation!
We still intend to make this Winter special for Tara. She will be turning on our Christmas Tree lights on the Village Green on 27th November and we have had a quiet word with Santa, and he has kindly offered to allow Tara on his sleigh for his ride through the village on Christmas eve before he sets off to visit all the good boys and girls around the world. Tara is very excited by both opportunities.
Plus, our lovely friends at Landmark are being very generous and have invited Tara and her family to a to enjoy a day at the park. We really appreciate their generosity and are sure that Tara will have a great time. Thank you Landmark!
We’re sure that Tara will feel very special, and make some great memories to look back on, and then next year, we plan to have two new Winter Lights designed by children of Aviemore Primary School.
To prevent a similar situation occurring in 2022, the school are already working on next years designs, and we’ll be holding the competition much earlier. Watch this space for updates as they happen.
